Three Products in One - Fetch APMA Version 2.0 Delivers Real-time Email Policy Enforcement, Compliance Archive, and End-User Archive
Mississauga, Ontario – August 9, 2006 – Version 2.0 of Fetch Active Policy Manager and Archive (APMA) represents a major step forward in the ongoing struggle to address email compliance requirements efficiently and cost-effectively. Version 2.0 focuses on the end-user archive capability with a focus on ease-of-use, breadth of configuration options, and administrator convenience functionality. In addition we continue to enhance APMA's scalable architecture and flexible design.
The most significant ease-of-use enhancement comes in the end-user archive. Stub mail is now left behind for all archived email. Stub mail can be used to open (or recover) one or more mail messages from a user's archive database.
Users can now specify that certain email is not to be archived, although administrators have the ability to override this preference. This approach makes it easy to deploy end-user archiving without the need for education.
Administrators have new configuration options. For example, administrators now have the option to control archive database rollover by size and date. This provides finer grained control over the conditions under which a new archive database is created. Also, end user email retention periods can now be specified in terms of years, months, days.
Behind the scenes, we have ported our new backend logging module (built for Pursuit) into APMA. This provides for broader and more in-depth logging of all activities. Updated installation scripts have been expanded to include verification of certifiers, public keys, signer ids, and access levels, all of which serve to deliver a cleaner installation.
We continue to improve the efficiency of our real-time policy engine. With each release we look to enhance our checking algorithms to improve throughput and increase the number of supported policy rules.
