TEAMSTUDIO RELEASES THE TEAMSTUDIO CIAO! API FEATURING SUPPORT FOR SERVICE ORIENTED ARCHITECTURES (SOA) AND COMPOSITE APPLICATIONS

With support for SOA, Teamstudio CIAO! reduces development cost and allows easy creation of audit trail reports which assist Lotus Notes organizations to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements

BEVERLY, Mass. (January 22, 2007) – Teamstudio® the global leader in software asset management solutions for Lotus Notes®, announces the release of the Teamstudio CIAO!® software API featuring support of Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) and composite applications. The CIAO! API will reduce development costs through support of SOA.

Teamstudio’s release of the Teamstudio CIAO! API comes at a pivotal time as IBM has announced that its future rendition of Lotus Notes (known as “Hannover”) will support composite applications via a new Composite Application Editor. Composite applications combine software components from multiple applications that are coupled to create an integrated application. The new Application Programming Interface (API) of Teamstudio CIAO! will allow composite applications to call important CIAO! software functions including code check-in, code check-out and audit trail information.

The Teamstudio CIAO! API supports sharing of audit trail information with other applications to enable Lotus Notes development organizations to confirm compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements. Teamstudio CIAO! software provides source code control for developing Lotus Notes applications and produces a comprehensive audit trail of the development process, supporting industry best practices for software development.

The Teamstudio CIAO! API is a major feature enhancement that makes it easier for IT organizations to support interoperability with back-office applications and to conform to industry best practices. For example, a composite back office reporting application may easily gather audit trail information from the Teamstudio CIAO! application by a date range to confirm compliance with organizational security policies and with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations. The CIAO! API reduces development cost for this reporting application by supporting the service oriented architecture approach to building applications which combine valuable data from multiple sources.

“The new Teamstudio CIAO! API is an important step forward in lowering the cost of software development and accelerating compliance with SOX by supporting Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) and composite applications,” said Ian Smith, President of Teamstudio, Inc. “Releasing this new API is a key part of Teamstudio’s product strategy, is consistent with our vision to aid the Lotus community in capitalizing on SOA technology and is aligned with IBM’s strategy for Lotus Notes 8.”

The CIAO! API license agreement, pricing and availability will be announced the beginning of Q2 2007.
