The Password Power Portal Plug-In enables single sign-on using Microsoft Active Directory credentials when logging into an enterprise information portal, permitting users to access applications without repeated login prompts and save substantial login time. The Portal Plug-In supports popular portals such as BEA WebLogic and IBM WebSphere. “Users logging into an enterprise portal find it is still necessary to authenticate to the systems and applications they are trying to access, however Password Power Portal Plug-In removes these authentication steps,” said Thomas Hoey, president and CEO, PistolStar, Inc. “Password Power Portal Plug-In resolves authentication issues by enabling reduced sign-on overall from the time end-users logon to their computers and providing seamless access from the portal to disparate applications and servers through ‘authentication redirection’ to Active Directory.” Password Power Portal Plug-In capitalizes on the simplicity of logging in with the Microsoft Active Directory credentials to provide users with single sign-on from the portal. After entering their credentials at the portal login screen, users can directly access SAP NetWeaver, SAPGUI, and IBM Lotus Domino applications (Lotus Notes, Domino HTTP, Lotus Sametime and Lotus QuickPlace). The Portal Plug-In successfully achieves single sign-on by creating tokens with the portal (Active Directory) credentials when the user logs in. As an added benefit, Password Power Portal Plug-In was developed as a server-side solution, which makes it easy to install and does not require IT administrators to deploy client-side software.
