Integration of Password Authentication and Security Solution with Outpatient Rehabilitation Software Will Allow Chart Links’ Customers to Strengthen Authentication Processes by Providing Self-Service Password Management to End-Users and Functionality Administrators Need to Meet Security Initiatives
Amherst, NH and New Haven, CT – August 19, 2008 – Chart Links LLC, a provider of outpatient medical rehabilitation software, and PistolStar, Inc., provider of password management solutions integrating Microsoft Active Directory®, enterprise single sign-on and stronger authentication, today announces plans to integrate PistolStar’s Password Power 8 Web Set Password Plug-In with Chart Links’ product. The browser-based password authentication and security solution will help Chart Links’ physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology and audiology customers to better protect patient information by more strictly securing password authentication and management processes.

Chart Links Rehabilitation Software is used in charting patient progress for medical rehabilitation. It handles the entire outpatient rehabilitation workflow including scheduling, insurance authorization, referral management, treatment documentation, charges, outcomes, reporting, and compliance.

Web Set Password enhances security by providing stronger authentication features such as authentication with username, password and challenge question and answer to gain access; multiple challenge questions for self-service password reset and recovery; and configurable strike-out limits by person, group or hierarchy. Securing access to critical data, Web Set Password 8 prevents multiple users from logging in with the same credentials, validates password strength during login, enables password expiration intervals, and restricts the frequency with which a previously used password can be re-used.
