For more technical developers or OEM applications, the ecKnowledge Server Development Kit™ (EDK), which ships with ecKnowledge, provides a set of APIs that can be used to interact with the ecKnowledge Server through other application programs. CASAHL ecKnowledge® 9.0 (to be released First Quarter 2007) also includes new ADO Provider technology, capable of integrating SharePoint with other applications without needing to replicate the data.

CASAHL ecKnowledge® respects existing enterprise security infrastructures, including systems-level and application-level authentication and authorization mechanisms and HTTPS and SSL for secure communication over the Internet.
