ProductDescription:
Password Power for Lotus Domino (APD) removes the need for separate passwords for Domino Web applications. With APD, end-users can consolidate and simplify management of end-user accounts and credentials by authenticating against their LDAP directory (e.g. Microsoft Active Directory, Sun ONE LDAP, IBM Tivoli Directory Server, OpenLDAP, or Novell eDirectory) to access all Domino Web sessions, including Lotus iNotes, Sametime (IBM Lotus Instant Messaging and Web Conferencing), QuickPlace (IBM Lotus Team Workplace), and Domino Web applications.
APD resolves any of the issues that might arise when standardizing on an LDAP directory in a Domino environment. APD effectively handles the mapping of usernames from Windows and the LDAP directory to Domino as well as the Domino authentication to the LDAP directory. Password synchronization between the LDAP directory and the Domino user accounts is also facilitated. By using a LDAP directory as the central password authority, APD also simplifies the coordination of disparate password policies.
Resulting benefits of Password Power for Domino inlcude:
For administrators:
• Reduced workload
• Greater productivity
• Increased availability of IT resources for resolving more critical issues
• Minimized retraining of end-users because APD operates in the background with little-to-no end-user intervention required
For end-users:
• Having only one password to remember
• Logging in only one time
• Time-savings
• Increased productivity
